Accelerating the Mediterranean Green Transition: Contributions from the Interreg Programmes
How can we build a community of resilient people in the Mediterranean area? How can we ease the shift to a greener way of living?
ADRION, ENI CBC MED and MED Programmes will team up at the next #EURegionsWeek to present stories of cooperation supporting green transition across and beyond the European Union. The three Programmes will joinly organise a workshop on 13 October from 11.30 to 13.00 to elicte their collective achievements in three areas of the EU Green Deal: circular economy, green entrepreneurship, and sustainable transport.
For the first time, three Interreg Programmes operating in the Mediterranean area will showcase how they stimulated collaborations among beneficiaries through thematic communities, clusters and projects’ synergies to support the EU Green Deal. The strengths of each Programme and their complementarity in providing different yet comprehensive solutions to tackle green transition will be addressed: MED with the successful experience of its Green Growth community on the circular economy topic, ENI CBC MED with its awarded projects on green entrepreneurship business models and ADRION with the Thematic Cluster on Sustainable Transport on solutions to reduce transport emissions. Each intervention will be illustrated with videos giving insights on stories from the field and territorial capabilities. Finally, the session will shed light on the 2021/27 period by discussing how these Programmes can strive for an effective cooperation to streamline green growth in the Mediterranean area.
