EU Sustainable Energy Week is coming in September 2022

The biggest annual event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe, European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is back this year under the theme “Going green and digital for Europe’s energy transition”. EUSEW 2022 will be held from 26 to 30 September and will include a series of activities aiming to build a sustainable and secure energy future for the region.

The EUSEW was launched in 2007 by the European Commission and it is organized by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) in close cooperation with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy.

This year’s EUSEW will take place in a hybrid format, both online and physical. The European Commission has already opened registrations by inviting participants to choose to join the event on-site in Brussels, or online.

Interest parties have the opportunity to interact with European Sustainable Energy Week through EUSEW Interactive which is a space for users to play an active role in the different elements of the European Sustainable Energy Week. Users can log in and apply for the different calls, register Sustainable Energy Days or simply participate in the public vote for the EUSEW Awards.

EUSEW 2022 aspires to bring together public authorities, private companies, projects, NGOs and consumers in order to promote initiatives to save energy and move towards renewables for clean, secure and efficient energies. Based on previous editions, more than 4500 participants including public authorities, energy policy experts, private companies, EU project partners, researchers and consumers are expected to attend.

From 19 to 23 September, the Policy Conference will be preceded by the EUSEW extended programme featuring 40 sessions. In addition the event will include the European Sustainable Energy Awards Ceremony and the  third edition of the European Youth Energy Day and both taking place on 26th September.

Moreover, the event will provide opportunities for bilateral meetings, exhibition stands and other networking activities. From June to September, there will be locally organized Sustainable Energy Days taking place around the world to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.
